For a Bourbon to be called "straight" it must by law be a fermented grain spirit with a minimum of 51% corn content, no more than 80% alcohol after distillation, aged in new American white oak barrels for at least 2 years, not exceed 62.5% alcohol at the beginning of the aging process and not be bottled at less than 40 alcohol degrees. Named after Evan Williams, who opened Kentucky's first distillery along the banks of the Ohio River in 1783, it is aged for much longer than required by law.
The result is a Bourbon that is smooth, rich and easy to enjoy.
