The thin, fiber-like threads of the chili pepper come from the culinary tradition of Korea, where they are called "silgotsu" and are used instead of powder or various fresh chilies. They are produced from various red peppers, of the genus Capsicum, such as chilli idu, jinta and chaotian. Traditionally, chili threads are decorative, but they are considered an essential ingredient in making kimchi pickle.
Shape: Red peppers are cut into such thin strips, they actually look like threads. Their thickness does not exceed 0.05 cm, while their length varies between 5-8 cm. Although dried, they maintain a relative humidity that reaches around 15%.
